No matter how I log on my backup program (Retrospect 5.6)
won't recognize me as administrator and won't run. I get a
message that says I must be an administrator for the program
to run. It used to run OK with the default log-on (just me
as the only listed user with no login). I know this has
something to do with my attempts to open up all file sharing
with no restrictions in folder options/security. But
everything is checked for the users listed (full). I'd sure
like to start from scratch with this "security" stuff. What
are the defaults?
This is XP-Pro-SP2. Can't get Retrospect to run with simple
file sharing on or off. I have re-moved and reloaded the
program several times, including cleaning out the registry,
(but no luck). Of course, system restore refuses to allow a
restore (what a joke that feature is).

Not necessarily...how did you make this change?

If you were to log in as Administrator (the built-in account), does
Retrospect run properly?

Have you contacted their tech support?

System restore is not a joke; it's quite useful.
