I'm trying to log a notebook computer onto our LAN, but
cannot. I created a computer name on the server (the same
name as the computer), but the domain will not let me in
when I try to log in. If I log on locally (to the machine
name) and try to add a user/computer under "user accounts"
I get this error:
"The trust relationship between this workstation and the
primary domain failed."
Need some help techies!
Thanks.

You need to add the COMPUTER to the domain.

Right-click the My Computer icon, select properties.
Select the Network Identification tab.
Click the Properties button.
Type the name of your Domain in the Domain box.
Click Ok.
When the computer attempts to join the Domain you will be prompted for the Administrator password.
Enter the password.
Restart your computer and attempt to login to the Domain.

Hi Jeff,

Just some quick questions:
What type of domain are you trying to log onto (NT 4.0, W2k, W2k3 etc.)
Do you have proper name resolution setup (WINS/DNS)
What is the error message that you get when you try to logon to the domain?
