Logging into websites

I formatted.. and I am not able to sign into sites such
as:

www.DetroitGamers.com
www.gotfrag.com

and many more.. I looked and cleared my cookies.. tried
to hit default settings wherever possiable and I cannot
seem to find out how to login at these sites. Before I
formatted I didnt have any trouble and I did not have to
change any settings before entering them.

How long since formatted your drive, and why?

Can you ping these sites?


Could it be a HOSTS file problem?
Look also for a file named HOSTS (no extension, could be
hidden) rename it OLDHOSTS, reboot.
