I am learning about networks and have set up a domain with Windows Server
2003 as a domain controller. I have several other computers running XP
professional.

Under Windows 2000 there was an entry in the registry for setting the
maximum number of loggons if the domain controller was down. I assume that
there is something similar in XP but I can't find it.

I want to set it to a large number since this is a learning envriornment for
me, the domain controller (server) will not be on very often.

Anyone know where that entry might be.

Thanks for any help.

Neal,

Yes - Windows XP has the same notion of cached credential logon.

The registry setting you are referring to has nothing to do with the number
of times you can login using cached credentials - it is actually the number
of different user accounts you cache.

So by default cached credentials is enabled and you will be able to logon as
many times as you like if your DC is down.
You need do nothing.
