I want to know how many pages I get out of a print cartridge. Is this
info recorded anywhere in my computer? Or how many total print jobs?
Or etc?

What printer??

Epson you need the SSC service utility.

The test page on some printers shows the total machine count. Check it
before and after using a cart.
Otherwise, somehow measure the paper used.

I'm using Windows XP and my printer is a Brother MFC-240c.

The test page showed no information.

On recent Canon printers, the service sheet (the data is stored in the
printer's EEPROM) shows (at least);

Waste ink count
Total number of prints, I think each on photo, plain, and CDs (for CD
equipped models).

Total number of cartridge changes for each cartridge, if they are allowed
to empty in their natural prograssion, rather than refilled before ink goes
below the prism.

With that, you can figure how many pages per cartridge change.
