My wife's new computer is visible in the "View Workgroup PC's" (but not My
Network) but when I click it I get a "Log-On" window. That PC is not
password protected, it just comes on when you start. It has no firewall, (XP
SP1) I tried leaving it blank, no luck. When I right-click>Properties a
"BONK" ..."You do not have access to this sever, contact network admin..." I
am the "Admin" how do I get past this?

I'm not interested in Log-on, (thanks anyway) I want to know why I get the
pop-up (I have never gotten a pop-up to log on to a network computer before)
and why I can't see the shared folders in My Network?

It is better to assign a password. If you do want to auto logon, you can do
a different way.

auto-logon - How toA: The simple way to setup AutoLogon a Windows OS is use
TweakUI AutoLogon feature. You can download TweaUI from Microsoft. ...

I figured out what it was... (tail between legs) I went to her "My Computer"
and noticed the Shared folder didn't have the share "hand" I right clicked
folder>properties>share... it says "By default windows has protected you
from Network sharing, if you would like to share, click here"...(Network
Wizard setup)
Thanks for your help anyway!!

use ipconfig to find the remote computer IP. Then run cmd and net view
\\remotepcipaddress.
