Hi, Im running Windows XP sp2 on a HP pc. I discovered a virus on my pc, cant
remember the name, but it infected mostly .exe files. I loaded Panda
anti-virus but about three-quater way through the scan it the program stopped
responding and i closed it using end task. Also, while scanning it said some
files could only be disinfected by restarting the pc. I restarted my pc later
and then i tried to log on to my account with my password. Windows starts to
load my settings but once its loaded it immediately logs out again and goes
back to the welcome screen. The same thing happens with the other user
accounts. I tired booting up in Safe mode and Last Known Good Configuration
but this doesn't help either, the same thing happens with the Administrator
account.
I think the virus may have damaged some Windows files. Is there anyway I can
fix this problem and repair Windows without having to reformat my pc and
wipping out all my files? PLEASE HELP! THANX
