log on not going directly to desktop

I installed a new printer. Now when I turn on my unit,
it always goes to "user" log in where before it went
directly to the desktop. I want to start at "desktop"
again when I turn on. Can you help?

Click on Start, select Run and enter the following

control userpasswords

On the users tab remove the check from "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer" and click Apply. When you click apply you will be prompted for a user name and password to use to log onto the machine automatically. Enter the information for the account you want to use and click OK
