I'm getting error 7013 on my W2k server when starting a certain
service after a reboot.I went into the security properties of my log
on as a service in the OU domain controllers GPO. the account I am
using with the service is listed there , but also I have a dozen of
sid numbers. Are these old accounts that are no longer needed? the
numbers start with a *s-1-5-21 and so on.

Hi Pat,

The account which you specified to the service must has the "Log on as a
service" permission.

We can use the ntrights.exe to set the permission.

As to these SID, I think we can remove them.

Note: before doing this, it's better to do the full backup of the whole
system.

Thanks for using Microsoft News Group!
