I'd also be interested in this. We currently have pool systems that are
running W98 (even one or two running W95) that log on as "default" with no
password. There are no apps installed other than the Citrix ICA client. Even
IE is disabled. The systems automatically start the ICA client and the users
log on with their network passwords.
We are in the process of rolling out new WXP clients that will do a domain
logon and auto start the ICA client (which is set up to auto logon to the
Citrix server). My concern here is that we are talking about a user set that
freaks out at the smallest of changes. For example, I once changed the text
under an icon and we were flooded with "Where is my Misys icon????". In
addition, we have a great deal of difficulty getting people to follow
instructions. I'm concerned that we will get a number of people (who,
frankly, don't give a shit) that will not log off. We do have a screen saver
enabled that will lock the keyboard, but I'm worried about that period of
time (20 minutes) being in an unlocked state and also the necessity to power
off the workstation in the event that the user leaves and we can't find her.
