Sometimes, when I try to log off, Windows has trouble closing as I get a
small window "End Program" and "MCCWSAWINDOW." I have to click "End
Program" to get Windows to shut down. Several internet sites suggest this
is because I have BTHelpNotifier.exe running in my startup. However, I
don't have this on my system. My IP is Verizon. Any suggestions as to what
is causing this log off problem and how it can be corrected?

This problem is caused by Verizon's Online Help & Support app which loads a
program called, "McciTrayApp" via Startup. This app cripples Windows in
several ways, and should be disabled immediately.

Do the following:

Click START> RUN> type "msconfig", and click "OK".

Then, click on the STARTUP tab, uncheck "McciTrayApp", click, APPLY, then,
re-boot your machine.

Once the machine reboots and you're back at the Desktop, there will be an
alert about the changes you have made via "msconfig". Check the box that
says "Don't show again" or something to that effect, and then click, "OK".

That will do the trick of disabling that poisonous Verizon Online Help &
Support app, including no more MCCWSAWINDOW warnings at shutdown (because
that poisonous "McciTrayApp" is no longer loaded onto your machine at
startup).

You should also go into your "Add or Remove Programs" service and delete
that poisonous Verizon Online Help & Support app from your machine. It's the
root source of the problem.

The above should more fully have read: 'Then, click on the STARTUP tab,
uncheck "McciTrayApp", click, APPLY, click "OK", then, re-boot your machine
by clicking "OK" an the pop-up alert.'
