(1) Vista Ultimate on main PC.
Have user name on the Vista Ultimate PC but no password.
All networking is through a switch.
A printer is on the network.
All PCs can see the printer.

I have a networked XP Pro PC that I can see.
When I try to Tools/Map Network Drive I can see the other PCs.

I click on the XP PC and it asks for a User Name and Password.
The XP PC has no username or password setup so I should be able to just look
at it right?
But no, that does not allow me to.
There is a create folder button that also does not work.

Help is useless!
How do I get access to MY OWN PC????

(2) I have another PC running XP with Zone alarm.
Sitting at PC2, I lower zone alarm firewalls and trusted zone firewalls.
I cannot see my main Vista PC, but I can see all other PCs.
What the heck is with Vista.
Vista is a major roadblock trying to get connected.
How do I get these PCs to allow access to each other?

These ARE MY PCs!!!

Hi,

1) XP and Vista both only netw\ork share based on passworded accounts.

2) In Vista, you must enable Network Discovery in the Network and Sharing
Center in order for other machines to see it.

Easiest ? way is to give both PCs accounts with the same name and password.
