Tom

Hi,

Has anyone had this problem? When I try to log in a
Windows XP workstation to a Windows 2000 domain, I get an
error message as soon as I click OK or press the return.
The message basically says Windows can not connect to
domain, can't find domain comtroller or user account. If
I log in localally on the same machine a second later
after I close the dialog box, the machine logs in fine I
can see the entire network and access everything. This
machine is a member of the domain and this morning I
restarted the server and was then able to log in. I have
not changed any settings on this machine and this just
started happening for no apparent reason.

If anyone could help it would be appreciated.

Thank you,

Tom

when you logon locally, it uses your cached credentials to access the
network resources. when you logon domain, you can't because of the DNS
records error. Hopefully, the rebooting cleans the error. otherwise, check
the dns records.

Tom,

Thank you for the update and we need the feedback like this. I wish that you
didn't reboot the server and we fixed this problem by cleaning the DNS
records. So that we will know we are in the right direction.
