When I boot up a login box appears with username 'default'.

I have to hit return to continue the boot up. How can I get rid of this box so it boots right through in one go

Hi

From Start>Run type in

control userpasswords2

then uncheck 'Users must enter a user name and password to use this
computer' and click 'Apply'. On the next screen - 'Automatically Log On' -
delete the name 'Administrator' from the User name box and enter your
account name and then the password in the next two boxes. OK your way out
and then reboot your system.

What are the account name and passwords you refer to?

I'm nopt aware I have any for W XP.

Can anyone advise me if I can set up my PC for a single user, so that after pressing the on button I can come back in a few minutes and its booted up, not hung on a box wanting some input?
