Log-in Box: How do I create one ?

Hello, I would like to create a Log In text box where
just certain members like Affiliates can log in to my
site. I've never done this before, so can someone explain
slowly how I can create a member log in box or button.

The method I use uses the cPanel provided by my host. I simply password
protect a folder on my web, place html pages and/or documents that I want
protected into this folder and then provide the username and password to club
members. I have a Members Only Login button on my home page for "authorized
users". HTH
