Log in and immediate log out

Normal XP home user screen
Attempt to click on a user (no password required)

Loads user settings
Flashes the desktop background and some message(to fast)

Immediately goes back to the user screen and
says it is saving user settings.

Can access in safe mode
can't access msconfig
 
Hi

Try 'Last Known Good Configuration' - keep hitting F8 after a reboot. If that doesn't work, try a System Restore from Safe Mode.

thanks for the info. last known good config gave me the
same problem. when i tried to do a sys restore i rxd this
msg:

rstraiexe Entry Point Not Found
The procedure entry point
RemoteAssistancePrepareSystemRestore could not be located
in the dynamic link library WINSTA.dll

Hi Rick,

Thanks for the help. I went into admin and found the error
logs full. Saved and deleted. But...still the same.
