locks up, not power saver, or screen saved set ? is this normal

My desktop PCV-RX790G Running MS XP Home edition hangs if
left alone. I've set power, HardDrive and screen to
NEVER. No Auto Hibernate.

Sony would like me to restore all -
Is there a known bug and fix available ?

sounds like a system file problem. if you have not

tried restoring a "last known good state" by pressing f8
well before the xp logo appears at boot up, then try
running "sfc /scannow" to verify your files integrity and
originality. you will need a retail version of the cd,
not a restore or recovery disc. this may help, or lock
up anyway. after that, you will probably need to restore
the system.
