lockout by ip address

I have found that you can lockout an account by multiple failures to login,
but there seems no way to stop someone trying to login from the same
ip/terminal trying a different user id. Ideally I want to block a
terminal/ip address that has failed to login multiple times. i.e like the
account lock out.

Many Thanks

There is no way to do that unless you have a firewall or use ipsec filtering to block
that IP address manually. If this is happening on the lan, the source computer name
should show in the security log in Event Viewer if you have auditing of logon events
enabled on the machine they are trying to access or domain controllers if they are
trying to logon to the domain. Then you can show up at their computer with security
guard and escort them out of the building. --- Steve
