locking xp on the network

Hi'
I was just wondering if it possible to lock windows xp, so
that people can not install software or make any changes
to the settings?? As the pc's would be based in a public
place.

Any ideas

Try setting up a very low privileged account on the
machine...for example they would only be part of the
Group 'Users'...I believe this will give you the results
you want.

Yep. Go to http://www.winguides.com and get Tweak Manager from where all you
want, in that regard, can be tweaked.
