Locking Worksheets

I have a worksheet that I need to lock. But the issue is
that I would like to lock it so that I can specify only
certian cells to have data input only while the rest of
the sheet can not be messed with in any way. Can this be
done?

The first thing you need to do is select the cells you
want to allow changes to. Then choose Format - Cells -
Protection, and uncheck "Locked". Then protect the
worksheet; since the remaining cells are still locked, no
changes can be made to them.

If you right click in a certain cell you want to have
write access to while the rest are locked, then go to
format cells -> protection, if you then untick the locked
box the cell will remain unprotected when you protect the
sheet in tools->protection->protect sheet.
