If you dont have a password to get into your account, go to control panel, then user accounts, find your account, then password it.

To lock it, press Windows key + L

To unlock, type your password

you need to go to Start-Setting-Control Panel. once inside control panel go to user accounts. In there you need to click on create a new account, type the name you want then click next . You need to click computer administrator then create account . When you have create your new account you need to create a password for that account.
Try and make it easy for you to remember but also making sure that you don't write in down anywhere or tell anyone . This way no-one eles can get on the computer in your account. then you have done that click create password. You will now find that is password protected.
Now you have to log off what account you have on then log in new account or if you are sharing with people. Its a go idea if each of you can have a different accounts. Also when you have open your new account you can password protected files to which is you have not got the password to no-one eles can changed them. In control panel you also have a logon options too.
If you have account then you need to go into control panel and and password protect it . when you have done everything you need, you will have to shut down the computer so that everything has been saved and when window xp screen comes on it will have your account and all you then need to do its put your password in then click go
