Does anyone know that if people in my department link to
my database tables could they lock up my database and
prevent me from adding stuff? I was in my database saving
stuff and everything was fine. I created a huge macro
tried to save and it says I do not have exclusive rights.
How is that possible? Now I cannot do anything. Can I
stop this?

From Access 2000 onward, you must have exclusive use of the database in
order to update objects (such as macros). (Behind the scenes, every save
saves the entire database.) There is an option to open for exclusive use.

In Access 97 and earlier versions, mulitple users could be in a database,
and you could still save an object. (Behind the scenes, it was saving
individual objects.) But, there was suspicion that this led to database
corruption
