Hi LSB!
By implication, I take it that the rest of the sheet is not locked.
Select the entire sheet by clicking the button at the intersection of
rows and columns headings (or Ctrl + A)
Format > Cells
Protection Tab
Remove check from Locked
OK
Select the column that you want to lock by clicking it's column letter
Format > Cells
Protection Tab
Place check in Locked
OK
Tools > Protection > Protect Sheet
Give and confirm passwords if you want
OK
But note that Excel worksheet security is not really designed to do
more than protect against accidental changing of formulas as security
is easily circumvented.
