Im looking for a way to shutout certain users, around 5 from Internet
Explorer. One way I was thinking was perhaps to create a new user group
named something like "Denied" and add them to it, and set up a policy that
users in the denied group cannot use IE somehow. Any ideas anyone? Thanks

If you are in a domain you could use Group Policy to assign those users a bogus proxy
address in IE connections properties and deny them access to the connections
properties. That strategy will not work on a stand alone machine where you are better
off using a third party program such as PortsLock that is a personal firewall that
has different configurations based on logged on user. You can deny them access to
Internet Exlorer executable, but there are a number of ways to work around that. --
