Locked Out- Source Control

I have a situation. Somehow “Check a Web page in or
out (Source Control)†got turned on. I have been able to check back in all
pages
except 2. These pages have a LOCK Icon—and when I go to Tools->Site
Settings and attempt to turn off source control, I am asked for User name and
password. Under properties it shows that the file is checked out by
LIBRARY/Chris (that’s my computers name—and my login name).I am the only user
(and I have administrator privileges) on this computer—but it does not like
my name and password. So, how do I reset a new password. I went into User
Accounts and reset my password. But this does not help.

Help!!

Thanks

Chris

My work around has been to save the changes I have made to the page under a
different name (indexq.htm instead of index.htm), close FP, open Windows
Explorer, delete index.htm, and rename indexq.ht, to index.htm

Check the actual site and see if the file is read only. That will stop a
"check in". Not sure if that does not work.

Thanks for your reply.

I gave up and restored a backup from a couple months ago. I host my own web
page using IIS on drive C. I restored the web page from a backup to Drive
D-and in IIS, removed, then turned on again FP extensions. I do not know
exactly what solved the problem-- but it is working now.

Thanks again for your response--perhaps your suggestion would also have
worked (files deleted now)
