Today I switched my laptop computer from 'Domain'
to "workgroup' , running XP Professional for
the first time in a year. It all came up fine but I
realize that of the one user account & administrator that
are on the computer, I cannot remember ANY of the
passwords. So I effectively cannot use the computer. I
tried calling MSFT as well as my company administrator
and neither could help me.

In short, I do not remember [ neither my company
administrator !!] the local user account password or
administrator password. How do I access my user account
without needing re-load OS & application programs ?

Please HELP !!!

Anyone have any idea what I can do?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Ram

Hi

You might try to reset the local Administrator password
with one of the methods mentioned here:

http://securityadmin.info/noframes/faqget.asp#password

http://www.petri.co.il/forgot_administrator_password.htm

I have a similar problem on a PC running XP Prof I was using at work and now
its at home but not on a network. I changed from using a domain to a
workgroup. Now when I login all user and admin passwords do not work. I get a
message that says the user id/password is not valid. I also have lost the
field to select a domain that I had before. Basically I cannot login at all
to my PC, even via Safe Mode. Any suggestions?
