Hello,
I inherited an Access 2002 DB with security applied. My
workgroup information is below:

C:\PROGRA~1\COMMON~1\System\SYSTEM.MDW

Every time I try to open the objects in the DB I get the
following error:

You don't have permissions to run 'Form Name'(or any other
item whether it be a table, report, macro, etc.)
To run this object, you must have Open/Run permissions for
it. For more information on Permissions and who can set
them, click Help.

The previous owner left before I got here and I have no
idea what the Admin password was. I can not find a
security file for this DB. I have tried going in and
assigning all permissions to all objects to the users
group, however, I get an error telling me I do not have
permissions to do this. I need to be able to access all
of the items in this DB. I tried taking ownership of the
file and then changing the security settings, however,
that did not work either. There is a shortcut to the file
in the same folder, however, Ireceive the same erro
message when I try to open the DB using the shortcut as
well. What can I do in order to get access to these DB
objects and then be able to setup my own security policy
on the DB? Thanks for any help in advance.

You inherited a mdb, but did you also get the mdw with it? Try searching
for all mdw files. The system.mdw path you provided may be the standard
workgroup that ships with Access, rather than the one used to secure the mdb
with.

You need to find the right workgroup file, and also need the
username/password of a user that's a member of the Admins group in that
workgroup.

Thanks for the information.

I have not been able to locate the MDW file for this DB.
Also the individual that created the DB was the only
person that had Admin privledges. Is there any way to
reset the security level so that I can access this
information?

Thanks Again
