Locked Out (My Stupidity)

Ok, here it is. I was exploring through my TRIAL version of Access and
created this database tweaked it and tuned it just how I wanted. I entered a
decent amount of information into it and saved it.

Then I decided to explore and I got into the security section where I
enabled User Level Access. Now I didn't change anything I didn't type
anything in. In fact I sort of paniced and thought I could cancel out, but
instead clicked finish. it told me I needed to print out the WIF file, but I
don't have a printer, it asked if I wanted to save a snapshot, stupidly I
said no (wish I could go back!).

To make a long story short please tell me I can get back into my database.
I am getting the error "You do not have the permission...." How can I get
back in herer? Please save me!

Ok, I figured it out. The wizard creates a *.bak file that you can rename to
an *.mdb file and recover your information. that was simple, had me scared
though.

Thanks anyways.

Did you backup before exploring? (always a good idea).

If this is in 2002 or 2003, the wizard gave you an opportunity to create a
backup of your unsecured mdb. I hope you didn't decline.

Look in the same folder as your mdb and see if there is a file with the same
name but a bak extension. IF you find it, rename it to have a mdb extension
and see if you can get in it.

The wizard may have created a desktop shortcut to open your secure mdb - use
that to open it. If you don't want the security then do as above.
