I brought my Dell PC to the office, and the IR loaded
windows 2000 on so I could be networked. There was no
password installed, so that I could just hit "return" on
the password page and move on. Then something in my unit
got corrupted, and once it was fixed, I can no longer get
past that screen, yet to my knowledge there was no
password installed. I'm willing to re-install my copy of
windows me, the original OS that came on my computer, but
I don't know how to keep the computer from just booting
up to the now-useless password gate-keeper page. Please
Help!!!! Thanks you. (e-mail address removed)

if you lost the password or dont know it there is no way around it.
you need to reinstall. To reinstall you need to put in your dell system cd,
or the windows install cd and boot to cd. there should be a prompt when your
computer is booting. If it skips this and goes straight to windows, go into
your bios and make sure your cdrom is set to the first boot device, and hit
spacebar when it prompts to boot to cd
