Locked myself out

Now I'm freaking myself out. I can easily delete the
System.mdw file and get into *any* of my "secured"
databases. I guess I have research to do to find the
proper way to secure a database that cannot be hacked so
easily.

If you can you have not properly secured the database.

I suggest you start by reading

Access security is a great feature, but it is, by nature a complex product
with a very steep learning curve. Properly used it offers very safe
versatile protection and control. However a simple mistake can lock
everyone including God out.

Practice on some copies to make sure you know what you are doing.
