Hello Mr Rowe,

Thanks for replying, much appreciated.

This is not the first time this has occurred to me and if I knew how then I
might have a chance at fixing the problem. What happens is I use the FP
remote web site to transfer the files to my web site and can manage them
nicely ... no problems.

However there are some situations when I would like to transfer files out of
say explorer and I can't get access to the site it simply times out. My ISP
is able to open the site and I am able to open the site from a machine in a
different location. But not from the machine that I need to. It appears to me
that FP has locked the site.

There is my dilemna.

How do I tell FP to relaese teh site from is control.

Regards
ajay

What does this mean: "However there are some situations when I would like to transfer files out of say explorer and I can't get access to the site it simply times out"

The above sentence makes it sound like your moving files directly from windows explorer to your remote web. You need to Import files from outside your locally created web into FP, then Publish them to your remote web.

How are you Publishing your site?
Does your server have FP extensions installed on your web/site?

Hi Rob,

Thanks for your reply.

At the moment I have a basic web site that I have been managing with FP and
transferring files via FTP with FP to my site that has FP extensions
available.

I have done some work on a MySQL php based shopping cart and I don't want to
use FP to manage theses files I simply want to be able to ftp them with say
explorer (or whatever).

As mentioned in my previous post explorer simply times out. This has
happened in the past on another site and I had to delete the site in FP then
unistall FP to be able to get access to that site (which also has FP
extensions).

I have tried to disable the FP extensions in page options but this has not
worked and I would like to find a solution so I have the option of either FP
or FTP.

Look forwad to your reply.

Regards

Andrew

Create a FP subweb / subsite to hold the PHP files, then do not use FP to open this subweb/site.
