Hi,

i have an ongoing issue that i'm hopeing someone will be
able to shed some light on. It's doing my head in!

We are a small business running Small Business Server
2000. I am having sporadic issues relating to locked files
held on the network. They are locked when they should not
be. Other users can only open the documents concerned Read
Only and have to save under a different name. Some files
can also not be deleted due to being locked by another
user.

I seem to be unable to find any known issue articles etc.

Thanks in advance for any help offered.

Regards,

James

Hi James,

If the clients are Windows XP SP1, this may be an Opportunistic Locking (OpLocks)
problem. For more information see the following Web Pages and the Microsoft
