Locked database

I would like to know if there is a way to have a msgbox open up when you open
a locked database and display the windows login name? Thanks for any help you
can give.

No sure what you are asking exactly.

Here's code that would grab who's logged in:

But, if you want to know who's locking the database up while you are trying
to use it, that's different.

I have a database that i have open exclusive and when one person opens it and
another wants to open it i would like to show a msgbox that tells that person
that
that it is locked by this user.

I don't think it's possible.

Access is going to complain about the fact that the second person can't get
in properly before you'll have a chance to.

And there's no easy way to determine the ID of other users in the database,
just their computer name.
