I purchased an upgrade version of Windows 200 professional
to install on a computer running Windows ME and Norton
anti virus. I forgot to disable the anti virus and it
locked up when it tried to write to the boot sector. Now I
can reboot to Windows ME but when I try again to install
Windows 2000 it wont allow it because it says it is
already installed and I am not elligable for an upgrade.
HELP!!!!

There is no upgrade path from Windows ME to W2K.

If you want to use W2K, you need to do a clean install.

Not exactly... the keyword you left out is "There is no SUPPORTED upgrade
path from ME to 2k." I'm not supporting your decision to try it out, BUT i
have accomplished it a number of times without fail. When Winnt32 is run
from within WinME the message asking if you want to upgrade DOES display...
Try it at your own risk.
