Hello,

I would like to know if there is any way to lock the
taskbar so that the users cannot resize it. The problem
that I am facing is that even if I have hidden the clock
from the taskbar, some users can still access it by
reducing the taskbar and then double-clicking on the
bottom right of the screen. The clock window would the re-
appear. Unlikely to WinXP, there is no "lock task bar"
option on W2K. I tried to solve this problem through
group policy but it does not work. Any help solving that
problem would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Sebastien

Sebastien, you are correct. The "Lock the Taskbar" is a feature of Windows XP. Windows 2000 does not have this feature unfortunately. However, if you would really like to lock the clock out you can set up roaming profiles. This is a fairly lengthy process. Read the following article for how to accomplish this:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q302082&sd=tech

That would be a good place to start. You can also simply remove the clock from the tray as well (Right click the tray and selcet properties. Remove the check mark on the "Show clock" option. This can be removed in your roaming profile too.

Hope that helps.

WHY do you want to remove the clock?
Just curious...
