Fran

Once again we have another problem of spyware infecting and killing a
system.

I have three apps that require administrative access to do their work
but that's it. Three. I want to know how I can determine WHAT they
need admin access for and how I can set up the user as a power user
and give admin access ONLY to these three apps. I want to keep our
users from getting crap installed on their computers from web sites or
other downloads they may bring in.

What is being done "out there" to stop this spread???

Any and all suggestions are appreciated! Thanks!

Hi Fran,

If you do not want to give admin password to users at all, you may try this.

Open the Scheduled Tasks folder. Create a shortcut to your app. Modify the
property to run as a different admin user and set the password there. Set
the schedule to run once only. By default the task will NOT be deleted.

Tell your users to start the app using the shortcut in Scheduled Tasks by
right clicking and Run.

Denis
