lock a field from edits after data is entered...?

Is there a way to lock a field from being edited once data is entered into
that field?
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
 
This is a very very common question. Please do a search and read the
previous posts that talk about how this is done. You might have more luck
in the "Forms" or "Forms coding" newsgroups.
