I'm a real novice at word 2000 and need a little help managing my documents.
Is there a way to automatically put at the bottom of every document I type
the location it's saved as. Example if I opened a new document, typed it,
then saved it, could this be written at the bottom of the document C:\my
documents and settings\dad\my documents\revised calendar.doc? Thanks Rodger

Sure can! Click "View", "Header and Footer". Click the button to switch to
the Footer. Click "Insert", "Field". In the "Categories" section click
"Document information". Click the "File name" field. Be sure to click
either the checkbox (2002/3) to add the path to the file name, or click the
"Options" button to add the path. I can't remember which way it is done in
2000, but you will be able to figure it out once you get to that dialog box.

Holler back if you have questions.

It's actually even easier than that. If you select the "Filename and path"
entry from the AutoText menu on the Header and Footer toolbar, you will get
the {FILENAME \p } field Bill mentions. You can insert this field in
specific documents or in a template (so that it appears on all new
documents), but do *not* put it in Normal.dot, as this will have unfavorable
effects on labels and the like. See
