pictures that I need to remove/resize to get the total size of the ppt file

You will probably get some good ideas for reducing the size of your
PowerPoint file here:

Why are my PowerPoint files so big? What can I do about it?

Thanks, thats an great article. The problem is that the SizeMe add-in does
not work with Powerpoint 2007. I find it wierd that there is no information
about the size of each slide, or each element in a slide, so that I more
easily could figure out what I have to focus on to cut the size of my file.

You might try saving your file as a Web page (*.html). This will pull
out all the pictures and sounds into a separate folder. You could sort
that folder by size and see which picture or sound is the largest. I
know this is convoluted for something that you feel should be a feature
in the program, but I'm afraid that's the way it is.

To get the size down, maybe try one of the compression/optimization app's
NXPowerlite or PPT Minimizer? I'm not affiliated with either but do use both
and sometimes the file size difference is incredible after optimizing.
