local web to remote problem

Pages all work well in the local site in different browsers. When certain
files (index file etc) are transferred to the remote site, the file size is
increased and the page is either tripled or doubled on the remote site. I
have deleted the files from the remote site and reloaded but that does not
fix the problem. Certain pages are not doubled.

Your host needs to update the extensions on the server.

Would that be the only problem? It was working a couple of days ago. I went
to update the site and thats when the problem occured. As the files are
transferring to the remote site...and as I access Internet Explore (and the
site to look at the visual progress), the site looks like it is loading
properly. When the transfer gets to "processing" (on the bottom of FP) after
everything is downloaded, that's when you can see the site double or triple
pages. Until that point, the upload looks perfect.

I just tried uploading the from the local site again and stopped the upload
right before it got to "processing" on the green crawl bar at the bottom of
the upload page. That kept most of the pages from doubling. However, the
files on the remote site that I have problems with when I do a full upload,
are still about 6,000bytes bigger...so the files are not the same size.

The bottom line: have you contacted your host about the issue?

Have you checked to make sure that you have the latest Service Packs for FP?
This is a problem with some versions of FP and was fixed in a patch.

Hope this helps,

I downloaded sp2....are there any other service packs? What is strange is
the file size varies. And as I mentioned watching the file load on the
website everything is perfect until the last upload (processing).

What do you mean the pages are doubling/tripling, I see a normal looking web
there.

Rob - Late yesterday, I did a complete reload and stopped the upload to the
remote site right before the bottom green upload bar got to "processing". At
that point I hit "stop." What happened before say on the first page was - a
duplicate on the top without a picture and header, the second or middle
duplicate had the main picture but no header and the bottom or third copy of
the page was at the bottom and a duplicate of the top copy. I did do a sp2
office update and since the last upload in which I manually stopped the
upload, I have not tried an upload.

I would like to find out about what others have said concerning a fix in one
of the service packs. What was the specific problem that was addressed by
what others have said.

Thanks -

Thomas - If I let the "process" continue, it would then double or triple
what was on the page. I know this because I was watching the upload on
Internet Explorer. That is to say, I kept hitting the refresh while
watching it upload.
