Hi all,
When I open lusrmgr.msc to run Local Users and Groups, I just receive error
message:
"Unable to access the computer MY_COMPUTER_NAME. The error was: Invalid
syntax"
Do I lack any component or do I have to configure any thing? Thank you very
much.

Best regards,
LPhuong

LPhuong,

I assume you already adde "Users Control Panel" component.
Please also add MSXML 2.6 and 3.1 components (especially the first one). Let us know if it helps.

Hi KM,
I added MSXML 2.6 as you said but it doesn't work. I already have:
- Administration Support Tools
- User Control Panel
- MSXML 2.6
- MSXML 3.1
Should I add another component? Thank you.

Best regards,
LPhuong

LPhuong,

Try adding "Credential Management User Interface" component. Someone mentioned in NG that it helped fixing similar issue.

Did you try adding and using the ""Local Users and Groups" snap-in in the mmc console directly? Wondering if that worked.

Also, can you run lusrmgr.msc through DependencyWalker on your target? That may show you if you are missing any file dependency.
If it doesn't help, there are also FileMon/Regmon and ProcessMonitor tools from sysinternals.com.
