How come there is no mention of the local system account
in the MCSE training and review books from Microsoft.
There is supposedly a question on the MCSE 70-210 test on
using this particular account. I've also had a NT
administration class and was never told or had any
information in the Microsoft NT book on this account which
is a MCSE book.

Thank You

Because you cannot use it to logon, schedule services,
change it's password, or basically do anything with it
other than allow it to do it's own thing. When I took 70-
210, there was no mention of the SYSTEM account, nor was
there in 70-215 or 70-217. While the account is crucial to
the operation of the system, it cannot be used to logon
with or anything else that any other user account can be
used for. It also cannot be modified in Local Users and
Groups or Active Directory. It is a hidden account that
the system uses to accomplish tasks.

Kevin, while that may be true, I can't believe it is not discussed
because on an improperly configured network, a service running on
machineA as LocalSystem can access network resources on machineB. A
frightening prospect MS certified people outta know about.
