Is the local system account the built in non removable
administrator account on Windows 2000. There is no
mention specifically of a local system account in the
training manuals for 70-210 or 70-215 by Microsoft Press.
There is a paragraph in the 70-215 manual that all tasks
must be started under an authorized user with appropriate
security permissions. This specifically has to deal with
errors of getting scheduled tasks to start on local
systems.

Thank You

Jeff, the local system account is a special account used
by the OS to perform it´s tasks, it is not a user account,
nobody can use it but the Operating System itself. The
local administrator account is a user account, a user may
log on to the system using it, it has the highest
administrative privileges but it does not represent the OS
itself. The administrator may, however, assign or deny
permissions to the system account, but be careful on doing
so with permissions assigned by default, as ths may cause
critical system processes to stop working.

Hope this helps,
Robert
