A FrontPage web contains additional files and folders that enable FP to
manage the web and its contents. The icon makes a web easier to spot in a
folder list.

Please define what you mean "modify them manually".

FP webs/documents should never be touched outside of FrontPage, only within
an open web.

The folders with the icon signify the root folder of a web, or subweb.
Other folders within the web or subweb are plain "Windows standard"
folders, and should be left that way. If they are changed to have the
icon, it will be very difficult to tell the difference between the root
folder of a web/subweb and a simple folder within that web/subweb. Note
that a web can have any number of plain folders, and any number of subwebs.

I see that my local sites are located in special directory icon. Its similar
to the standard Windows directory icon but with a small icon of the earth
inside it.
Can someone elaborate on that a little?
What are the special feature/attributes of this directories that differs
them from the standard ones and where can I see that?

Thanks in advance

Gil

Thanks,

Since some of the folders looks identicall to Windows standard folders
(though FP works fine with them)I'd look to modify them manuually, to the
desired ones.
How can I do that?

Regards

Gil
