Recently, Win 2000 has been installed on my computer. I am trying to find the
Local Settings folder within Windows so that my Outlook Contacts can be saved
to CD. This question was asked a few weeks ago, but I think I have somehow
deleted the original location of the folder. I cannot find it through
Explorer anywhere. Or even documents and settings. Please help.

Open Windows Explorer and enter the following in the Address field:

%UserProfile%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

Click Go. Local Settings is a hidden folder. By default, Windows won't
show you the hidden folders. If you want to see them, double-click My
Computer, choose Tools>Folder Options, select the View tab, and select the
radio button labeled "Show hidden files and folders". I recommend you also
uncheck the box labeled "Hide extensions for known file types". Click OK.

Thanks for your quick reply. Luckily, I have found the folder. Someelse in
my household helped out and found it in the Deleted Items folder. I do not
know how it got there.

However, I did what you suggested and 3 folders were added to Documents and
Settings, All Users, Default User, and a folder with my name on it. In none
of the 3 folders, could I find the Outlook pst. file. Where is it? Thanks
again.

Did you move it back to where it belongs?

Normal.

Run the mail applet in Control Panel and click the Data Files button. The
path of the PST Outlook is using will be displayed there.
