Local Serial printer data errors

If the antispyware beta product is running in background the local DataSouth
Documax 3300 on com1 (4800 baud) produces intermittent printing errors. The
errors include partial reprints of about 200 characters and missed form
feeds. The symptoms are consistent with buffer corruption or overrun.
Printing is a low volume MySabre application. With antispy ware enabled I
get one or two bad pages a day, I turned it off for 3 days and ran clean.
Turned it on and got an error within hours. The problem occurs on both the
current and earlier verison. We are using 2ghz Dells and xp with current
updates.
Has anyone seen similar symptoms?
 
I haven't seen this reported before.

Consider doing a repair install--control panel, add or remove programs,
Microsoft Antispyware, change, update--in case it is something specific
about this installation (i.e. an incomplete install of some sort...)

Otherwise, I'd remove the run entry from the registry and use it as an
on-demand scanner--once a week, maybe on Friday, run, do a file, check for
updates, and scan.

I can't say for sure that beta2 will change this for you, but I think I will
be able to say that beta2 will be better tested before release--and I hope
you can test this issue. A recent chat stated that beta2 will be available
in the first quarter of this year.
