I hope someone can help me out here, I have several users that cannot print to local printers, although they can print to networked printers. I just upgraded 30 machines to new Dells, with a sysprep, Ghosted image. I am up to six users that cannot print to there local machines, although they could print with the old win2k machines. Outlined below are the steps I have taken, its really getting to be a critical situation for me, and I am at my last shred of patience
1. Changed the BIOS setting on the Parallel port, and tried all the different settings, per a Dell tech net article > no g
2. Loaded all the drivers available for the printer for XP >> no g
3. Tried the drivers for Windows 2K >> no g
4. Moved the printer to another workstation and it prints fine >> The printer is goo
5. Tried a known good cable on the effected machine >> no g
6. Tried a known good printer on the effected machine >> no g
7. Tried printing from the command line >> no g
Deleting the printer takes forever, test pages will not clear the que, even after starting and stopping the spooler, and restarting the machine.
