My brother's computer runs on Windows XP. He recently installed the SP2 and
ever since, he cannot get into his computer (safe mode or desktop)..period.
He gets the message "The Local Policy of this system...". He has been in
contact with Dell and Microsoft and they have tried everything to no avail.
When he tries to log into safe mode to fix the problem, it asks for a
password and whether he gives the password or not, he still gets the same
error message.
I have checked this website and went to all of the suggestions that were
given to others with the same problem. My brother tried all of them with no
luck. One of them he wanted to try had to do with safe mode, but there were
step by step instructions on how to perform the function and, he cannot get
into safe mode anyway.
Is there anything else he can do that would help him get his system back up
and running again (other than reformating) or is reformating the only
solution to the problem.
Or is there a way to repair his system using another computer (there is one
other computer that uses XP)? He would need step by step instructions if
they are available. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
