Local Folders "Missing"

I have experienced all of the other problems that other Microsoft Mail users
have had regarding phantom emails, cannot delete, etc.

However, yesterday I encountered a new issue that I don't seem to see anyone
else having posted here....

My local folders (and I have set up many) are not showing up when I open
microsoft mail. I can, however, expand the list under the inbox and some of
them show up. Others are just plain "gone". I have tried to locate them and
cannot do so. Even the "junk email" folder that CAME w/ Mail is gone. I
went to the "customize" folders area and I was able to bring back the "sent
items" folder as well as the "outgoing mail" folder. But...each time I close
the program they "disappear" again. I know they must be somewhere.

Anyone know what's going on here? Does my question make any sense?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am really close to giving up on
Microsoft Mail. I have so many options to go w/, but kept thinking they'd
work out all of these problems. Thanks so much...

This problem may be caused by your antivirus program.
Windows Mail is incompatible with most McAfee and Norton
antivirus programs. If you are using either of those two, it is
best to uninstall it and replace it with a more compatible
antivirus, such as the free version of Avast:

I have experienced the same problem, my folders keep hiding but when i search
i can find them, however they are not where they are supposed to be, it is
driving me nuts! My anti virus is AVG pretty good don't know if this is
causing the problem. The other problem I have is if my inbox shows 5 new
messages when i read them it still shows 5 new messages unless i close and
reopen windows, do you have the same problem.
