I have been having this problem for a few months now, my Local C disk drive
runs at startup of my computer when I log in to my user name, this doesn't
happen for any of the other users on my home computer. Can any one tell me
what might be the problem. I have tried looking in the startup to see if it
was set to run, but it wasn't.

Thanks
Lady Ruffin

Windows XP (the operating system),is on C: drive by default,it must run for
all & at every start-up,unless you have xp installed on another
partition.If in
my computer, you see only C: (local disk drive) & not others, then xp is
running

Do you mean that a "Windows Explorer" window opens with the contents
of the C: drive showing?

If so, look here:-

To Lady Ruffin: Please ignore the ranting of Andrew E., our resident
troll in these newsgroups. His answers are almost never correct, and
often dangerous.

In this case, his answer above has nothing to do with your question.

Read here for the solution to your problem:

Ken,

The KB article is for IE5 and presumably Lady Ruffin uses IE6. Does the
article need to be amended to include IE6?
